Finally – Vimeo Desktop Uploader

I have been waiting for this for a while and it’s finally here – the Vimeo Desktop Uploader. It’s running on Adobe AIR, a platform for cross platform apps with heavy focus on webb services.

Since it’s from Vimeo you know it will look pretty, and it does:

I haven’t tried it yet, so I’ll get back to this in the near future. But right now I’m just happy that it has arrived.

Beer Tasting: Lovelly stout from Catalonia

This weekend I decided to try a Catalan stout called Guineu Montserrat, which I bought about a week ago at my favourite shop in Barcelona – La Cerveteca. The text on the bottle is in Spanish (or maybe Catalan, I don’t remember right now) but my video podcast collegue Johan from our video show FemKommaNoll.TV sent me a link to a blog post about this beer. But it still felt like a wildcard…

So how was this beer? In the scent I noticed citrus fruit but also a hint of smoke. The head was pretty powerful initally and the colour was beige. The fruit comes through in the flavour as well but here I get smoke and a really nice bitterness from the hops. The hop flavour reminds me a bit about Dark Hops (which we tried in the latest episode of FemKommaNoll.TV) but more mellow.

It has a lot of flavours but it’s still a well balanced beer. I will definitely buyt this one again, I love it! And I’m looking forward to trying to all of the other beers from Guineu.

I’m beginning to understand that Catalonia is the Mecca of craft beer in Spain. It just takes some efford to get your hands on the actual beer. Good thing I’m stubborn as hell…

Today we launched a new site – Svisp.se

Svisp.se is a new site in Swedish about Swedes in Spain. Heavy focus on video off course since it’s a project by Urban Lifestyle..

Linda will be the main leading force in this project and I will assist and mainly take care of the behind-the-camera parts like shooting and editing video (which I love doing).

Urban Lifestyle goes all Vimeo

Today I write about our choice to use Vimeo as main video sharing service for all of Urban Lifestyle’s videos.

I really like the features of Vimeo Plus:

• 5 Gb per week in uploads
• HD embedding
• Great customization of player and channel pages
• Great video quality
• Unlimited downloading of source files
• All channels get a RSS feed with source files (can be used as podcast feed)
• Great creative community on Vimeo

I’ll keep you updated on this choice and I will still think it’s the best choice in the next few months after having spent some time trying it out.

Cool campaign with live video and social media

Noticed this campaign yesterday and it’s really inspiring. It’s actually entertaining.

This is the concept:

A reporter is following 5 interesting people around their towns with a camera team broadcasting live video from 9 am until 5 pm. The campaign lasts 5 days. If the Internet connection goes down, then so does an executive from the mobile operator – into a pool at the company HQ.

Great use of live video and social media. We like it!
